Varsity Head Coach


Coach Barchus started his coaching & playing career at McNary High School. From there, Barchus got his first collegiate level coaching opportunity in the West Coast League with the Klamath Falls Gems of the West Coast League. He then moved on to coach the Gresham Grey Wolves in 2016 and 2017, which led to Barchus being named the head coach of the Portland Pickles from 2018-2022. During his time with the Pickles, Barchus led the team to a league best 37-17 record and a Southern Division regular season
championship, earning him the West Coast League “Coach of the Year.” Other coaches have described him as a very organized leader, motivator, instructor and teacher of the game of baseball.
 
As Central Catholic’s head coach, Barchus is a combined 37-17 while winning the 2023 MHC League Championship and “Coach of the Year” award. Justin is excited to create a culture of connecting with the community, excellence in the classroom and
representing the school and the program with integrity and character.

Coach Barchus lives in Tualatin with his wife Jessica, children Raleigh (4) & Bodhi (1) and is the owner of Kraken Strength in Tigard Oregon.
