LADY RAMS TENNIS TEAM SIZZLES AT BEND TENNIS TOURNAMENT
 Despite frigid temperatures at times, the Varsity Lady Rams of Central Catholic heated up the tennis courts at the 2010 Bend Invitational Girls Tennis Tournament held April 9th and 10th. The Bend tournament (consisting of 16 teams from throughout the State and some of the top players in the State) pitted each school’s entire team against the other schools’ entire teams in a dual-match bracket format (4 singles matches and 4 doubles matches between 2 schools).
On Friday the girls got off to a fast start with a strong 6-2 victory over Sprague. They followed that up with an equally impressive 5-3 victory over Crescent Valley. These 2 victories propelled the Lady Rams into the Championship bracket semifinals on Saturday.
Despite again brutally cold temperatures, the girls came out smoking Saturday morning, beating Hermiston 8-0. The dominating win put the Lady Rams into the finals against Wilsonville. In a hotly contested final, the two evenly-matched teams battled back and forth the entire match. Despite outstanding play by everyone on the team, The Lady Rams ended up falling just short, losing 5-3, with several of the matches going to 3rd set tiebreakers.
The Lady Rams capped off the weekend with an impromptu celebration at the Sonic Drive-In in Madras (photos not included at the girls‘ request), putting the final exclamation point on an outstanding 2nd Place finish at a very competitive tournament against top-notch competition. The girls’ showing bodes well for the upcoming District Tournament starting May 10th .
Everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer on the Lady Rams as they battle their remaining league opponents and then compete at District. You’re guaranteed to see some outstanding tennis!

Boys Team Enters District Tournament
The boys tennis team goes into the District Tournament with a conference record of 6-1, with the one loss in a close match against the "best Barlow team ever". Corey Buchanan is the #2 seed for the Singles tournament, and the doubles team of Jack Stringer and Nick O'Donnel is the the #2 seed for the Doubles tournament.
