Crowning of Mary Mother Daughter Breakfast: Photos

On Wednesday, May 1, Central Catholic's Parent Association held its annual Mother Daughter Crowning of Mary ceremony. This Central Catholic tradition brings together the mothers, special guests, and daughters of our community to honor Mary, the mother of Jesus, as our role model and Queen of Peace. The month of May and floral adornments have long been associated with Mary, the Mother of the Church. You can view the photos here.

Lupe Alejandro, who is both a parent and a member of our staff shared this with attendees, "We are now in the month of May, traditionally known in the Catholic Church as the month of The Blessed Mother. Mary, the mother of Jesus, and our spiritual mother, is present in our lives to love us, to watch over us, and to bring our prayers to Jesus, her Son.* Sharing my devotion to Mary with my daughter, Xochitl is something I cherish. Our Lady of Guadalupe has been who I turn to when my life has gotten rough, and in the storm, her intercession has made it possible for me to get through it."

It was a poignant morning, honoring the special relationship between mothers, daughters, and those who fill a motherly role in the lives of Central Catholic's young women.
